Colonel Tofte has spent his entire adult life fighting for the Imperium. When the 9th Dokkalgard Dragoons were lost while defending the shrine world of Balmont, Tofte was just 18 standard, an apprentice to a mineral prospector, learning the deadliest trade on an already deadly planet. Drafted into the newly-founded 10th as a guardsman, Tofte spent the next two decades fighting across the galaxy, gradually advancing in rank as the regiment suffered losses.
Tofte leads from the front whenever he can, although more than 20 years of hard fighting and repeated injuries have had their toll on his physical abilities. His tactics favor surprise and overwhelming force, but other commanders often feel as though the risks he takes are reckless. The men of the 10th love him as a father, and Tofte takes great pride in knowing the name of every man under his command.
